DONATE BOOKS
For some families, having books in the home is easier said than done. That's why the Metro East Literacy Project (MELP) gives books to underresourced families by collecting books from you. Your homes are a treasure trove of books. You may have books sitting on your shelves collecting dust. Your books can be a huge blessing to another family that does not have access to books.
We collect textbooks, novels, reference books, travel books, cookbooks, gardening, fashion, lifestyle, health, history, etc. We want beautiful coffee table books with lots of images. We won't turn down books for preschoolers, middle schoolers, and high school students. If you would like to donate your gently used books to MELP, please contact me at [email protected].
Also, please sign up to volunteer to help distribute the books at our giveaway events.
Thank you so much.

COFFEE TABLE BOOK DRIVE
Hi Friends.
Coffee table books are excellent vehicles for browsing and learning about a subject. They are large, usually hard-covered books with illustrations and photographs. They are meant to inspire, delight, and spark conversation.
Several coffee shops in the St. Louis Metro area are partnering with MELP to collect books. Scan the QR code to see the list. Don't see your favorite coffee shop listed? Reach out to the owner or contact MELP and let us know. We would love to have many more coffee shops take part in this community literacy service.
If you don't have a coffee table book to donate, you can support this collection effort by giving a donation. We will use the money to purchase used books and pay some expenses related to the campaign, such as signage, collection bins, and stipends. Click #HelpMELP to give a donation of any amount.
Drop off your books at the following coffee shops.
